Website and Event Terms and Conditions

These Website and Event Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of websites, event pages, services, and events operated by Making Business Connections, LLC, doing business as MBX Events (“MBX,” “MBX Events,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By using an MBX website, registering for an MBX event, purchasing or claiming a ticket, or participating in an MBX event, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.
1. Scope of These Terms
These Terms apply to MBX websites and to in-person, virtual, and hybrid events organized or presented by MBX Events, including events produced in collaboration with other organizations.
Certain MBX programs, products, memberships, or services may be governed by additional terms. If additional terms apply, they will be presented separately. MBX membership is governed by separate membership terms and is not replaced by these Terms.
2. Eligibility and Registration Authority
You must be legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to register for or purchase an MBX event ticket. If you register another person, you represent that you have authority to provide their information and accept applicable terms on their behalf.
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete registration information. MBX may refuse or cancel a registration obtained through fraud, misrepresentation, misuse of a promotional code, or violation of these Terms.
3. Event Registration and Third-Party Ticketing
MBX may use Eventbrite or another third-party platform to process event registrations, tickets, and payments. Your use of that platform is also governed by the platform’s own terms and privacy practices.
Ticket types, prices, eligibility requirements, promotional codes, attendance limits, and event-specific conditions appear on the applicable registration page. You are responsible for selecting the correct ticket type and confirming all event information before completing registration.
4. Payments and Non-Refundable Tickets
All ticket purchases and registration fees are final and non-refundable, including in cases of nonattendance, late arrival, scheduling conflicts, failure to satisfy participation or technology requirements, or removal for violating these Terms or event rules.
This non-refundable policy applies except where a refund or other remedy is expressly required by applicable law or by a mandatory rule of the ticketing platform that cannot legally be waived.
Any taxes, processing fees, or third-party platform fees are governed by the applicable registration platform and may also be non-refundable.
5. Event Changes, Postponement, and Cancellation
MBX may modify an event’s schedule, format, platform, speakers, activities, content, capacity, or other details when reasonably necessary. MBX may also postpone, reschedule, or cancel an event because of circumstances affecting safety, operations, technology, participation, or event viability.
If an event is postponed or rescheduled, the ticket will ordinarily be honored for the rescheduled event and will remain non-refundable. If MBX cancels an event without rescheduling it, any available remedy will be determined by applicable law, mandatory ticketing-platform requirements, and the terms stated on the event’s registration page.
MBX is not responsible for attendee travel, lodging, equipment, lost business opportunities, or other personal or business expenses related to an event change, postponement, rescheduling, or cancellation.
6. Virtual Event Technology and Participation
Virtual events may be delivered through Remo, Eventbrite, or another third-party platform. Attendees are responsible for reviewing the event’s technology requirements and for having a compatible desktop or laptop computer, supported browser, reliable internet connection, working camera, and working microphone when required.
MBX does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access to a third-party platform. Individual device, browser, internet, firewall, audio, video, or account problems do not entitle an attendee to a refund.
Attendees must follow all published participation instructions, including check-in procedures, camera requirements, arrival times, and platform rules.
7. Event Conduct
MBX events are intended to provide professional, respectful, and productive experiences. Attendees may not:
Harass, threaten, discriminate against, or abuse another person;
Disrupt an event, session, presentation, or networking activity;
Share unlawful, deceptive, defamatory, obscene, or infringing material;
Record, copy, distribute, or commercially exploit event content without authorization;
Collect or misuse attendee information;
Promote unauthorized offers, spam attendees, or engage in aggressive solicitation; or
Violate applicable law, platform rules, or reasonable instructions from MBX staff or event hosts.
MBX may warn, mute, remove, or prohibit an attendee from participating when MBX reasonably believes the attendee has violated these Terms or created a safety, privacy, legal, or operational concern. Removal does not entitle the attendee to a refund.
8. Check-In and Attendee Connection Information
Some MBX networking events provide a post-event attendee connection list. When offered, only participants who complete the official event check-in will be included in and receive the list.
By checking in to an event that offers a connection list, you authorize MBX to share the professional contact information you submit for that stated networking purpose with other checked-in attendees. You are responsible for ensuring that the information you provide is appropriate to share.
Recipients may use attendee information for individual, professional follow-up. They may not sell the information, publish it, scrape it, use it for bulk messaging, or add individuals to marketing lists without the recipient’s separate consent. MBX cannot control every recipient’s conduct but may restrict participation in future events when misuse is reported and substantiated.
9. Photography and Recording
An event may be photographed, streamed, or recorded when disclosed on the registration page, in event communications, or at the event. To the extent permitted by law, continued participation after receiving notice constitutes consent to the capture and use of your name, image, voice, likeness, and participation for event delivery, documentation, and MBX promotional or educational purposes.
If you do not wish to appear in a disclosed recording or photograph, notify MBX before participating and follow any reasonable instructions provided. MBX cannot guarantee exclusion from incidental group or background images at a live event.
Attendees may not record an event or another attendee without prior authorization and any consent required by law.
10. No Guarantee of Business Results
MBX provides networking, educational, visibility, and relationship-building opportunities. MBX does not guarantee that participation will produce clients, referrals, sales, revenue, partnerships, collaborations, employment, or any other specific result.
Business decisions and follow-up interactions are made independently by attendees. MBX does not endorse or guarantee the qualifications, statements, products, services, conduct, or performance of any attendee, speaker, sponsor, collaborator, or third party.
11. Third-Party Services and Links
MBX websites and events may link to or rely on third-party websites, payment processors, ticketing services, virtual-event platforms, sponsors, speakers, or other providers. Those third parties operate independently and may impose their own terms, privacy practices, technical requirements, and fees.
MBX is not responsible for the availability, security, content, policies, acts, omissions, or performance of third-party services. A link, integration, appearance, or participation does not necessarily constitute MBX’s endorsement.
12. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, MBX websites, event materials, branding, graphics, text, recordings, presentations, and original content are owned by or licensed to MBX and are protected by intellectual-property laws.
MBX grants you a limited, personal, revocable, nonexclusive, nontransferable right to access event materials solely for your own lawful, noncommercial use. You may not reproduce, modify, sell, publish, distribute, teach from, license, create derivative works from, or commercially exploit MBX content without prior written permission.
Speakers, sponsors, collaborators, and other third parties retain ownership of their respective names, logos, presentations, and materials.
13. Information You Submit
You retain ownership of information and materials you submit. You grant MBX the limited rights reasonably necessary to process your registration, communicate with you, administer the event, display information you choose to share with attendees, and provide requested event features.
You represent that you have the right to submit the information and materials you provide and that their use for these purposes will not violate another person’s rights or applicable law.
14. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MBX websites, event services, content, and events are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. MBX disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, noninfringement, accuracy, availability, and uninterrupted operation.
Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or right that cannot legally be excluded.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MBX and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, representatives, and agents will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, business opportunities, or anticipated savings arising from or related to an MBX website, registration, event, third-party platform, or these Terms.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MBX’s total aggregate liability arising from a particular event will not exceed the amount the claimant actually paid directly for the ticket to that event.
These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.
16. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless MBX and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, representatives, and agents from third-party claims, losses, liabilities, damages, judgments, costs, and reasonable legal fees arising from your unlawful conduct, your violation of these Terms, your misuse of attendee information, or your infringement of another person’s rights.
17. Events Beyond Reasonable Control
MBX will not be responsible for delay, interruption, modification, postponement, or cancellation caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disaster, public-health emergency, government action, labor dispute, utility failure, internet or platform outage, cyber incident, transportation disruption, illness, venue unavailability, civil unrest, or other force-majeure event.

Third-party registration and event platforms process information under their own privacy policies.
19. Governing Law and Venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Unless applicable law requires otherwise, any legal action arising from or relating to these Terms, an MBX website, or an MBX event must be brought exclusively in a state or federal court located in Maryland, and the parties consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
20. Changes to These Terms
MBX may update these Terms from time to time. The revised Terms will be posted with a new effective date. Changes apply prospectively from the stated effective date unless applicable law requires otherwise.
Event-specific terms in effect when a ticket is obtained will continue to govern that registration unless a change is required by law or is reasonably necessary for safety, security, platform operation, or event administration.
21. Severability, No Waiver, and Entire Agreement
If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, it will be modified only to the minimum extent necessary or severed, and the remaining provisions will remain in effect.
MBX’s failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of its right to enforce it later.
These Terms, together with the applicable event listing, Privacy Policy, and any additional terms presented at registration, constitute the agreement between you and MBX concerning the subject matter addressed here.
